All Videoarticles will be checked for editorial suitability and quality, as well as for correspondence to the Protocol or Benchmark paper. In order for your research to reach the broadest audience possible, only Videoarticles in English will be considered for publication. We encourage sharing of Videoarticles, including via social media. Videoarticles will be published alongside textual methods/protocols under a Creative Commons CC BY license, meaning that they are freely accessible and downloadable, and can be reused if correctly cited. We welcome the submission of Videoarticles demonstrating new methods/protocols in any scientific discipline covered by Methods and Protocols. They increase the reproducibility and visibility of newly developed protocols/methods and can also be used as teaching aids. Videoarticles are detailed, step-by-step experimental demonstrations that illustrate new methods or protocols by presenting the material, equipment and actions required to conduct the experiment described in a Protocol or Benchmark paper. A technical note should be under 3,000 words with no more than 5 figures and tables.

Articles: original research manuscripts.Protocols: articles covering step-by-step procedural instructions to a new method/technique, or to substantial modifications of already existing methods/techniques.Manuscripts submitted to MPs should neither be published previously nor be under consideration for publication in another journal.
